As adults age, people tend to assume that they are going to grow a little more withdrawn and disconnected from the family. While this does often happen, there is most often an underlying reason. In some cases, the fact that the loved one cannot hear what everyone is saying will be the reason why they are not communicating as much during conversations, family get-togethers, or even just usual visits. You pay a visit to your aging loved one and can hear the television before you ever get to the front door or they come to see you and their car radio is blasting when they pull into the drive. These are definitely behavior patterns that you would not expect and can be caused by the fact that your loved one just cannot hear very well. Pay careful attention to your loved one's actions. They may be telling you they can hear just fine, but their actions may prove otherwise.
